Time-limited access
Files are served with short-lived, signed URLs — never public links. Access is scoped to the user, session, and purpose.
Authenticated sessions
Live sockets validate identity on connect and on heartbeat. Idle or unauthorized viewers do not stay in the room.
Clean record
Everyone in the room always knows which exhibit and page is on screen. If HandOut isn’t sure what’s being shown, it stops sharing instead of guessing.
Privacy by design
No PHI/PII in application logs. Tokens, emails, and IPs are redacted from operational noise.
Roles and MFA
Roles: attorney, paralegal, and org admin, with permission gates. Email/password login plus optional TOTP two-factor authentication.
Host admission
Guests wait in a waiting room until you Accept or Decline. Session codes stay confidential. Host-only private notes are never shown to viewers.
Secure packages
Marked-exhibit packages are not public links. Recipients verify with email and an access code. Links expire and can be revoked. Track opened vs downloaded.
